Should “Balloon Boy’s” Parents Go To Jail?
In the interview with Wolf Blitzer the Heenes asked their son (6 year old Falcon) why he had not come out from hiding when they called his name.

The tip that led authorities to realize what probably happened was an interview with the Heene family Thursday night on CNN’s “Larry King Live,” (with Wolf Blitzer filling in and interviewing the Heene family) Sheriff Jim Alderden of Larimer County said Sunday.
On Sunday, Alderden called the incident a “hoax,” adding that investigators believe the evidence suggest that “it was a publicity stunt” by the Heene family in hopes of “better marketing themselves for a reality television show at some point in the future.”
The parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene, met in a Hollywood acting school and “put on a very good show for us,” Alderden said. Authorities know there was “a conspiracy” between them, he added.
He said charges are expected to be filed in the case.
But should they actually go to jail for the fraud (alleged), stirring a panic throughout rescue and news outlets and wasting unknown monetary and time resources of rescue services and police? Or was it just a couple parents trying to work out a way to support their family and it got blown out of proportion because of all the media attention?

I absolutely think the parents should have to pay (both monetarily and legally) for what they have put the nation through.
I mean, think of what the parents were training the poor kids (although not very well) to do…LIE even with all that attention. It obviously made poor little Falcon upset and like any 6 year old he just wanted to do what is right. But you definitely get the impression, from the video, that his parents tried to coach him before the interview but he reverted to what he knew as “right” and told the truth.
Making the parent pay for this silly decision they made, especially forcing their children into the limelight of such a scandal, will hopefully offset the damage done by teaching the kids that you have to pay for your mistakes.
Sadly the idiots will probably get off with a slap on the wrists and end up getting a tv show, book deal and movie scripts lol. Stupid Americans sometimes (and yes, I am American and am ashamed lol).
They cost us, the tax payers, tons of wasted dollars and man hours and should have to pay every cent that it cost. Hopefully none of those scummy tv show producers decide all the hoopla is a good reason to use the publicity to launch a show.
The whole thing is lame. Enough already.
